Editorial assistant opportunity for journal supplement on estimation of congenital disorders

We are seeking an LSHTM student (MSc or Taught Degree student) to provide editorial assistance for a forthcoming journal supplement in the Journal of Community Genetics on the estimation of birth prevalence of congenital disorders (birth defects) which is led by Professor Joy Lawn’s team from the MARCH Centre. The role will require part-time work in the following areas:

  • Arrange peer-review of seven articles by verified reviewers, assessing peer-review reports and asking authors to revise their contributions as appropriate
  • Provide assistance with revisions and resubmission process to the journals

The role will commence immediately, with the anticipated completion end of July 2017 (subject to successful completion of peer-review process). Previous experience of the peer-review process is desirable. A clinical background or experience of working in the field of genetics or birth defects would be beneficial. The level of effort required will vary throughout the timescale of the project, however overall, it is anticipated that approximately a total of the equivalent of 10 days work will be required.

Remuneration: A lump sum of £1,000 will be payable.
